Biography
The Last Call Girls originated as an acoustic duo with vocalist Robin Powell and guitarist/songwriter Heather Brecht. Heavily influenced by old school country greats such as Loretta Lynn and Hank Williams, the group recorded one self-titled CD and played locally around Kansas City and Lawrence. The group has since expanded adding Dana Catlett from the Kelihans on fiddle, Scotty Rex of Go Kart fame on drums, and Lizz Weiler from Emma Feel, HoneyBaby, and the Old Black on bass. With new members came new influences and today the Last Call Girls incorporate elements of rock, punk, blues, Celtic, and country into their sound which is reflected on their full length studio album One Foot Out the Door. Currently the band is working on expanding their song catalog, playing live in new venues and regions, and making plans for future recording projects.
